Where the makers argue with themselves

Figures with nothing behind them

6 chairs have a fit number in wide circulation that we could not trace to any manufacturer document. Two of them were on our own pages until we caught it. Our build now fails if any of these strings is asserted beside its product again.

How to use a figure you find somewhere else

Ask which document it came from. A manual and a spec table are both the manufacturer, and when they disagree the manual is the one your warranty’s operating instructions point at. A retailer listing, a comparison site or a review is none of those, and a figure from one of them will not help you in a claim.

If you are within twenty pounds of a ceiling, treat the chair as out and move up to a chair whose maker publishes a higher one. Frames working near their limit leave less margin, and several instruments exclude use over capacity outright, which is why the four chairs above are the ones we point body-size shoppers at.

Weight limit questions, answered once

Do all massage chairs publish a weight limit?

No, and that is the finding. Of the 15 chairs we read, 7 have a manufacturer that publishes a fit figure and 8 do not. Where the maker publishes nothing, the numbers in circulation come from retailers, affiliate sites and reviews.

What happens if you exceed a massage chair weight limit?

Mechanically, the manuals that explain themselves talk about noise and faster wear on the cover rather than sudden failure. Contractually, several warranty instruments we read exclude use over the stated weight capacity, and one of them does so while never stating what the capacity is. Read your own chair’s exclusions rather than assuming.

Which massage chair has the highest weight capacity?

Of the chairs we verified, the Costway Relaxation 09 at 330 pounds, published in its retail specification table alongside a height range. The caveat is that neither figure appears in the manual that ships in the box, whose exclusions void coverage for use over capacity.

Why do published massage chair weight limits disagree with each other?

Three reasons we saw repeatedly. A maker states one figure in its manual and another on its spec table, which happened on 15 of the 15 chairs here. A retailer invents a figure that then circulates as if it were the maker’s. Or a chair’s own shipping weight is republished as a user capacity, which we found on one flagship.
